One Month of RamenBox: Thank You, Saint John!

On April 24th, we officially opened the doors to RamenBox at Brunswick Square, and what an incredible first month it has been.

Over the past 30 days, we've had the opportunity to welcome students, office workers, shoppers, tourists, families, and ramen lovers from all over Saint John and beyond. From first-time visitors curious about our self-serve ramen experience to regular customers who stop by multiple times a week, every visit has helped make our first month a success.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who has stopped by, shared a photo, left a kind comment, recommended us to a friend, or simply taken a chance on trying something new. The support from the Saint John community has exceeded our expectations.

Being part of Brunswick Square and the Uptown Saint John community is something we're incredibly proud of. Uptown continues to grow as a destination for shopping, dining, entertainment, and local culture, and we're grateful to have a place within it. Every day we see people discovering RamenBox for the first time, enjoying authentic international ramen brands, and experiencing our unique self-serve concept.

As we look ahead, we're excited about what's next. We'll continue expanding our product selection, introducing new ramen varieties, improving our customer experience, and finding new ways to make RamenBox a fun and convenient destination for a quick meal.

This first month has been just the beginning.

And yes, before you ask — we are not solving world hunger, fixing the economy, or ending traffic on the Harbour Bridge. We’re simply here to do something far more achievable:

Serve you hot, affordable, comforting ramen… fast.

From Tobacco Shop to Noodle Stop

Over the past few weeks, you’ve seen the transformation unfold:

The old John’s Tobacco and News space? Gutted.
The floors? Still judging us (we’re working on it).
The trim? Let’s just say it’s… aspirational right now.

But somehow, between the dust, tools, and late-night “this seemed easier on paper” moments, something awesome came together.

A space that’s simple. Warm. A little scrappy. And very, very noodle-focused.

The transformation of the old John’s Tobacco and News is officially underway and what you’re seeing here is just a glimpse of what’s coming.

We’ve stripped things back, cleaned up the space, and started building toward something that feels:

Modern
Fast
And built for convenience

But trust us… this is only scratching the surface.

And yes… it’s getting real.

Our sign is now up and we are almost ready to welcome you. Seeing it installed for the first time made everything feel official - like this idea we had is finally becoming something you can walk into.

When we first stepped into the former John’s location, it didn’t exactly scream “noodle bar.”

It was worn. Outdated. Filled with old retail fixtures that had clearly lived a full life.

But underneath all of that… we saw something different.

We saw a diamond in the rough ��

Seeing What Others Might Miss

Where others saw clutter, we saw possibility.

We looked past the shelves, the counters, and the years of wear - and started imagining what the space could become. A place that felt simple, clean, and effortless. Somewhere you could walk in, grab a bowl, and be on your way in minutes.

A space built for convenience.

A space built for everyone.

The Moment It Clicked ��

Then came the moment that changed everything.

We walked further in… and saw it.

A floor-to-ceiling window stretching across the space with a subtle, peek-a-boo view of the harbour.

That was it.

In that moment, we stopped looking at what the space was… and started dreaming about what it could be.
